Full assembly completed
A major milestone in steel plant technology was the first direct reduction plant in the world in 1969, located in Germany. The groundbreaking pilot plant was the foundation for the development of today’s MIDREX process and marks the beginning of the impressive success story of the direct reduction process.
And the story continues: 55 years later the bucket elevator with a conveying height of approx. 49 m and a capacity of 200 tph has been installed for shaft furnace charging. Originally the space was designed for the existing skip conveyor, which is replaced by the bucket elevator. AUMUNDs proven track record of expertise in Hot Material Conveyors for Direct Reduction Pants convinced the operator of the bucket elevator concept.
The demanding task was the extremely limited space available by using existing infrastructure. Despite these challenging conditions, the AUMUND Field Service team has completed the installation within the planned short time frame and with a reliable quality performance.
