SAMSON Mobile Shiploader Systems

Shiploading System at the Port of Kotka, Finland

SAMSON Mobile Shiploaders offer flexible and environmentally friendly export solutions for all bulk materials. The fully mobile chassis of the SAMSON Mobile Shiploader allows it to be operated anywhere in ports. They are quay size and receive from trucks directly to ship. Shiploaders can be rail or wheel mounted. Different designs match every type of vessel from barges to Panamax size. Loading capacity reaches up to 2,000 tons per hour – this depends on the specifics of the materials being handled. The SAMSON Mobile Shiploaders are a cost-effective and fast track solution with complete flexibility and can be combined with the Samson® Material Feeder Receiving Unit.

Shiploaders have comprehensive options of trimming equipment: a cascade trimming chute, variable speed radial thrower and radial distributor. They have outloading booms with integral three roll troughing idlers. Furthermore, the Shiploaders have optional cambered booms and can be used independently or attached to a single or double Samson® Material Feeder. Throwers and chute distributors are available with radio remote controls. They have a choice of power drives: diesel and/or electric. Shiploaders have full powered travel options with in-line and parallel motion as well as a levelling blade to provide a controlled feed rate.

The Shiploader provides dust free loading to the vessel hold and allows for the fast trimming of the entire vessel. It has powered travel, ideal for narrow quays. There is a slew ring mount between Samson® Material Feeder and Shiploader which permits 180 degree working arc. By mounting the Shiploader to 1-2 Samson® Material Feeders, the entire equipment can be moved as an integrated unit. Three roll troughing idlers support the conveyor belt in the structure for maximum rigidity and minimum weight. Remote controls allow for an operator to stand in proximity and observe the trimming, rather than operate from a distance.

SAMSON Eco Hopper

The SAMSON Eco Hopper which is an ecologically sensitive solution fulfilling all needs for the efficient import of dry bulk cargoes. The hoppers are designed to suit the characteristics and flow properties of virtually any bulk material. They are quay size and receive from trucks directly to ship. Eco Hoppers can be rail or wheel mounted. Rates of 5,000 tons per hour may be achieved, subject to grab crane performance. The throughput of the terminal can be increased by adding one or more hoppers, thus ensuring that onward handling systems can accommodate the increased capacity.

The Eco Hoppers have extensive dust control features (flex flaps, dust seals, dust control filters, air compressor). They have multiple discharge options: to conveyor, to truck, via telescopic chute, through ancillary Material Feeder. They have multiple travel options: rail, static or pneumatic tyre mounted, or powered and towable travel. Last they have increased safety features (level detectors, strain gauges, structural design to withstand overload to top of skirt).

SAMSON Eco Hoppers have a robust design (top shroud, grab impact grill). This minimises dust escaping. It is adaptable to a range of onwards processing or logistics requirements. It can be used on non-dedicated quays and moved off the area when not in use. It has flexible positioning to suit unloading vessels and an ability to work with a wide variety of materials with differing characteristics.

The new SAMSON Eco Hopper Low Ground Pressure Pontoon Pad design offers multiple benefits, both technical and commercial to accommodate restricted quay loadings. It facilitates reduced overall footprint to perform in restricted areas; gives lower level access to the auxiliary equipment providing easier maintenance; provides modularisation and standardisation improving supply; incorporates industry 4.0 software and integrated monitoring. This reduces costs for shipments, both containerised and project cargo. Each product is manufactured for each unique project (eg. Shiploaders can move cement clinker, gypsum and other materials).
