Matthew Jones new Managing Director

In May 2024 Matthew Jones will officially take up his position as Managing Director of Samson Materials Handling Ltd in Ely, United Kingdom, taking over from his predecessor, Martin Dummigan.

Matthew Jones is also head of the SCHADE Lagertechnik office in Bristol. Under his leadership the Wagon Unloading Systems, such as Wagon Tipplers, have developed internationally into well-known and reliable SCHADE products.

Matthew knows the English companies which have found their way into the AUMUND Group. In 2006 he started at B&W Mechanical Handling in Ely, before its name was changed to SAMSON Materials Handling. In 2010 he transferred to Bristol and built up the office for SCHADE Lagertechnik, going on to look after complex projects all over the world and establishing the Bristol office as a solid member of the AUMUND Group.

Now Matthew Jones is returning to his AUMUND roots in Ely. He says, “I am delighted to be working with my colleagues at SAMSON MATERIAL HANDLING again, after a gap of 14 years and to contribute to the success of the company, alongside my continuing responsibilities for the SCHADE Lagertechnik Wagon Tippler business.

Working together with the two teams in both Bristol and Ely, will allow greater integration of the skills and capabilities to provide mutual benefits. In particular I hope to use my personal knowledge and experience in engineering, project management and sales, gained over more than 18 years with the AUMUND Group, to further advance SAMSON’s successes.

Furthermore, working with my friends and colleagues in the wider AUMUND Group and associated networks, to continue to build the SMH’s business, winning many more projects in the future. I look forward to the many challenges we will face in the years to come.”
