New industrial worlds, new machines

SCHADE Lagertechnik
From combined machine to wagon tippler
Almost every year, SCHADE machines are finding new homes for storage in new industries and countries worldwide. Sulphur pellets and biomass are among the preferred bulk materials, along with ores, coal and salt.
In 2005, the largest combined machine for simultaneous stacking and reclaiming, with 61 metres of rail track, was installed in a storage location in faraway Asia. In the case of wood pellets, a power station has converted its coal storage area and installed a bridge-type reclaimer there, which homogenises the material in the covered hall. And SCHADE beats its own record: in 2014, a combined machine achieved a reclaiming capacity of 800 t/h on a 75-metre-long rail span in a salt storage facility.
The materials are taken to their storage location by water and land. Railways transport many of these bulk materials. For this specific mode of transporation, the AUMUND Group draws on its very own ideas, which were already patented in 1929: the wagon tippler for unloading complete railway wagons. Since 2010, a dedicated sales office in Bristol has been responsible for the development and sale of new applications.
Will SCHADE machines find their way into other sectors? Or are new machine developments on the horizon? Find out more in our December issue.
